dryland deep south alberta corn, about 2” since planting and nothing in the past month. ranging 5-7 feet tall. no idea where this will end up but right now i am impressed how it’s handling this intense drought. gonna be very interesting how the final yield compares to barley

I was curious on the P6910R hybrid. Hand shelled at 21.6% and 57 lbs. If I had a field of it I’d be there yesterday. It’s an ultra early 69 day hybrid.

Why aren’t we growing more dryland corn in southern Alberta? I fell into a bag of seed last year and so I seeded it just to see what happens. I was shocked how well it grew through a drought. This year I bought 2 bags and while I improved on my practice I’m still not doing
