Local innovations are made to solve local problems. Imagine an Al powered wheelbarrow in machakos; who will buy it. The only mark missed was to take local innovations to a global competition. Maybe it's high time we had some African TVETS focus on solving global challenges.
We took Kenyan students to France to compete with other TVET institutions on the global stage. While the rest of the world showcased AI, 3D tech and STEM-related projects, we presented brick making and cooking. I really felt for the guys. They must have felt so irrelevant!
