I went to see the new exhibit on the Colston statue at M Shed, here in Bristol, and bumped into this Brazilian hero next to it. Chico Mendes’ legacy is getting more and more relevant.

An essay I wrote about Celso Furtado has just come out. I focus on a stage of Furtado's thinking, when he was pushed to a critical approach by the military coups in Brazil (1964) and Chile (1973). His ideas from that time are especially relevant for today's peripheral countries.
From @RugitskyF (@UWEBristol and @made_usp), we bring a text that highlights the importance of reviewing exiled thinkers, particularly #CelsoFurtado and his work on #styles of #development. With this, Rugitsky argues for the enduring legacy of #LatinAmerican structuralists.
