That’s the problem with many young players they think they can only be valuable when they have the ball. Winning players value both on ball and off ball impact.
Nobody is "blaming him for wanting to be great". JK thinks scoring and getting paid is the only way to be great. If he cared about rebounding, defense, accepting a role that would help the team, the Warriors would have already paid him close to or at level he thinks he's worth.
