I get asked if I know cracked devs all the time, so even if not this role, you'll get a good number of chances at other roles. if you don't want to fill out the forms on - you can just email me at jobs@flightcast.com on why you're a legend.

i know applying to jobs sucks ass, so this time I'm doing something different. I made a little tool - - so you can apply not just to my job, but simultaneously to other companies looking for founding devs.

i will hire you from just about anywhere. fully remote. communication will be key. if you can’t be on slack / in calls with put together notes on what’s happening, it won’t work. but if that’s a skill you gotta learn that’s fine.

i have one of the fastest growing creators in the world as our distribution arm. we're launching in 2 months, and need to grind to make it amazing - for now, that means no side projects. it takes focus to make amazing things.

that’s the vibe we go for. but it makes you feel so powerful. if you’ve built shit like this, you know what i mean. so i offer to you, twitter user, come work with us. if you’re legendary, i will personally take money out of my bank account to meet your salary.

you’ll have to be really good at what you do. like really really good. talk deeply about a stack, understand the tradeoffs - we’re building years worth of software in months, it’s not easy. one of my guys said “some days i feel like in 24 hours i do what takes others 2 weeks”.

i know startup hiring is a meme. everyone says “come grind for me forever and get paid dogshit” (including me). but i hope the difference here comes across - if you love building shit, and want to do it all day every day, i want to give you a place to do that.

you’ll have to be full stack, but don’t need to know any infra or crazy architecture things. expect 50/50 frontend/backend. nextjs. ts. trpc. app router. tailwind. if you’ve got those down, you’re probably right for this. but even if not, still apply - it's easy to learn.

we will chat every day, making sure the ship is steering in the right direction, working on only the highest priority things customers are actively asking for. you will have time and space to learn everything about the platform, and help us take it from good to great.

you’ll have a legendary CTO and two cracked fullstack devs beside you. you’ll have me (and the rest of the team), available at all hours i’m awake, there to help you, give as much or as little guidance as you need. (but in a perfect world, you're exploring and figuring it out).

there’s a huge difference between making a small piece of something, and having an entire product in your hands. on this team, everyone has hands in everything . we talk to customers constantly every day. fix bugs the same day.

i will tell you about this job, and if you want it, you can apply with as much or as little info as you want, and i will read it. i will fight to make this the best job you ever have. the work will be hard, but it’ll be just as fun.

hiring a founding fullstack engineer. if you want to build cool shit, with huge creators, work super hard but have a shitload of fun doing it, keep reading.

probably also worth clarifying, this is very personal, not very business focused. a lot of the books i see talk about these things in some form of like productivity or leadership context, i'm hoping for a more. human context? if that makes any sense.

really hoping for deep answers to this - it doesn't come naturally to me. i've hit the point where i now have a long list of things i'm really battling with, and i'm trying to find a way to go from that deep struggle into some sort of progress or improvement, but it all feels.

how do you guys. change?. i feel like after covid, i lost a lot of my ability to talk to people, natural curiosity. things i valued. does anyone know of any books or readings on how to make deep, personal changes?. i fear i have succeeded despite who i am, not because of it.

This is an appreciation post for @AprilynneAlter. we just roadtripped from Seattle to LA. Because of bad scheduling, I had to take 5 long sales calls from my laptop while we were driving. she drove with no music, listening to me talk way too loud, for literal hours. im so lucky.
