At the 1928 Olympics, rower Henry Pearce stopped mid-race to let a family of ducks safely cross his lane. He still won the heat.

This is going to be fun. All three of our Cornish athletes have been in contention for a medal at this Olympics. It's quite something really.

A great Cornish woman. A daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a legend of British sport. It's been quite an adventure. And I'm sure Helen will continue to inspire many of us for years to come. (6/6)

It's one thing to win European, World and Olympic titles but another to continue to be a constant positive influence to people old and young in Cornwall and beyond. I feel lucky to have been able to share a very, very small part in Helen's journey. (5/6)

This year's comeback to rowing has been nothing short of miraculous and to finish 4th in an Olympic final and to continue to inspire people in Cornwall and around Great Britain for the best part of a decade is extraordinary. That has what @Helenglovergb has done. (4/6)

There was a magical feeling that day of pure joy. I was lucky enough to be on the parade bus through Penzance. That was a surreal but amazing experience. Four years later - another Olympic gold in Rio. (3/6)

Helen and Heather had already established themselves as one of the top rowing pairs in the world. In the summer of 2012, I was broadcasting from a packed Penzance Hockey Club, as they crossed the line to win Team GB's first gold medal of the games. (2/6)
