Anyone know how long the train journey takes from Nizheangarsk to Irkutsk Russia... a very long time I imagine and Im getting on one tomorrow -

Finally back in Nizheangarsk,Severo-Baykalsky District of the Republic of Buryatia, Russiain in "guest house" waiting until I board the train tomorrow for a 48 hour trip back across Russia and then down to Irkutsk to meet up with Mike Laird. Pretty basic but a shower and a bed!

Message from Russian Base Camp - ignoring Eugene's directions and hauling over to the eastern side of Baikal. Anastaisa is trying to get to to Rosie on a 4WD but the snow is very deep. I'm not sure she will be able to get to her.

Just heading over to the East side of Lake Baikal having reached the northern shore - phew! had hoped to pick up a hover craft to take me south but weather bad and too many ice cracks for hover to cope with so its plan B...
