You are being forced to learn "keep thy mind in hell and despair not" when you encounter Saints in any sort of way, especially moreso by modern saints who are close to us.

Even just reading the unfiltered communications of Holy Saints like St. Sophrony in "I Know A Man In Christ" feels like you're being flayed alive, it's actual hell to read at times, but Glory to God we need this to strengthen our constitutions.
It's pretty wild how St Silouan was so holy people would come to see him and fall down at his feet or run away in fear as if they were at the final judgement.
