When I was Director of Public Prosecutions, I saw first-hand how knife crime devastates families. My Plan for Change is turning the tide:. Knife robberies down in the hardest-hit areas. Over 1,000 weapons taken off our streets in July. And from today, ninja swords are banned.

We welcome the ban on the sale or buying of ninja swords which comes into law today. Buying or selling these weapons is now criminal. We have to rid society and our streets of these heinous weapons. This is a great move by the government.

I support this call for strengthening the law banning hunting with dogs. It is time to close the legal loopholes and also to introduce legislation to ban trail hunting.
