Thrilling news! Carrie Coon will be shedding her "Gilded Age" frills to appear in husband Tracy Letts's "Bug" on Broadway. It's my favorite Letts play, a potent, gut-churning concoction of accelerating paranoia, perfect for our age of conspiracy theories. https://t.co/DUjBs8QXoA

The play was written by Tracy Letts, who is married to Coon. It’s about a down-and-out duo for whom motel room insects prompt paranoia.

RIP the legendary cartoonist, author and world-class satirist Jules Feiffer, at 95. His work for the Village Voice, his plays and screenplays (including Carnal Knowledge) and his entirely original voice are landmarks in American wit

Saw this for the first time recently and it completely blew me away. A masterpiece. May is (of course) correct when she says the script wasn’t improvised - I have the script and the astonishing Cassavetes and Falk are right on it.

In his new documentary, “Menus-Plaisirs—Les Troisgros,” Frederick Wiseman constructs two overarching stories: one about the evolution of a world-famous restaurant, in France; the other about the material transformation of the food itself. https://t.co/v35Gk3yyvH

For our critic-at-large, the best of 2023 on stage and screen included “Swing State,” “Purlie Victorious,” “Bottoms” and the ever-alluring “Wednesday” dance.
