Great to see this petition climbing to well over 1000 now! Renaming a school has little relevance to success as previous rebrands have shown. Itās more important to adopt the proven internal practices that work - of which there is now plenty of evidence.

Thank you to over 500 people who have signed my petition to reverse @GreenshawTrust decision to remove the Madejski name from the school he funded and founded. Any school needs the trust & support of its local community, this is not the way to get it.

Is the @GreenshawTrust the right organisation to run this school? As well as what happens in the school, knowing and understanding the local community is essential to get buy-in. You canāt be successful if local people donāt support you. I would advise reversing this quickly.
It is hard to imagine a more stupid thing to do than erase the name Sir John Madejski from the school he founded and funded. People understand his positive impact on Reading across sport, education and the arts - apart from this particular academy trust. Not a great start.
