Most important thing to know when starting your journey.
@ActivateLearn @rosiesherry @RoamResearch You don't need to learn anything besides writing a few words you think are important in [[these brackets]], and hitting tab. The rest is just folks getting excited and building on that foundation. Very easy gateway, and many very capable people never feel need to go beyond.

Filters have a new option to include/exclude all daily note pages from results + they can now be used in the Daily Note In the Linked References settings menu, you’ll find new sorting options and controls for grouping by page, nesting under parent results, and showing paths.

Query results can be sorted and a new clause lets you filter across all daily notes, including referenced blocks. The builder sits above the output, so you can follow what you're tweaking + the icon has been updated from 🖋️ ->🔨to reflect how it's used: editing vs. shaping

🚨 We're currently experiencing a service outage in Roam due to issues with a downstream provider (Firebase). We're monitoring the situation closely and will update as we learn more. Thanks for your patience!

Slowdowns were particularly bad if you had a query open which returned a lot of results, even if the query was set to not auto update. They also happened frequently if you forgot to close old sidebar pages, or editing a page with a lot of linked references.

🚀 Roam just got a huge performance upgrade! Previously, the more blocks open on screen, either from pages in the sidebar or open queries, the slower Roam became. We've optimized Roam's performance so it stays snappy and responsive, no matter how much content you have open.

If you're a user and not a dev, this enables new functionalities for you too! For example, our @zapier integration now has a highly-requested functionality: you can add multi nested content now too!

Similarly, for our Speak to Roam Apple Shortcut, if you had enabled the Postprocess/Summary step, then now the output summary will be split into the required number of blocks (which is how it should've looked from the get-go!) Left is old behavior; Right is current behavior

🖖 Small update to our [[Append API]] (with some user-facing improvements) You can now pass nested markdown input in the "string" argument and it will be properly parsed into blocks To use it, just make sure the string starts with a "- "

Commentarii Roamani: Hello Again, Roamans Roam is for people who think in outlines, jump between tabs, and write things down before they make sense It’s not just for storing what you know but it’s for exploring what you don’t When you rely on such a tool, silence feels heavy
