4.5 y ago I spent 1/2 of my @ColumbiaPS interview discussing Jane Austen with my interviewer. I'm convinced I am only here because I have strong views on her use of irony. Reintroducing myself as an MD today with imo the most appropriate ir(c)onic Austen quote. #MedTwitter

Every professional organization in medicine should denounce the involvement of private equity in healthcare. They should send a clear message to their young physician members that PE is bad for hospitals, private practices, and patients. They won’t do it, but they should.

Congratulations to Dr. Chumderpadetsuk and team! We now have data to guide discussions regarding DWIT in kidney transplant! Looks like for donors with KDPI <63, DWIT even past 90 mins doesn't affect graft survival. @NKF @AST_info @ASTSChimera @transplantation @TransplantJrnl

Multiple studies have shown that females are living donors for kidney transplantation at higher rates than males. This study found that female overrepresentation among living donors is likely due to the 1.9 times higher rate of self-referral for evaluation.

Remember, pepper spray is oil based. If you get sprayed DO NOT rub your eyes. Immediately blink as much as you can to wash out some of the oil with your own tears. Then, wash your eyes with baby shampoo or dilute dishwashing soap and rinse copiously. Water alone won't do much.
