Trust in science dropped among U.S. adults in 2022, a major survey shows. The trend was driven by a partisan gap that emerged during the pandemic. Trust continued to drop among Republicans while returning to pre-COVID levels among Democrats.

In 2022, @ScienceMagazine named the launch of @NASAWebb as its Breakthrough of the Year. Last night, we honored the NASA individuals who supported this highly complex project for large swaths of the JWST community with the inaugural Mani L. Bhaumik Breakthrough of the Year Award.
