Oklahoma City, OK

The street art in Oklahoma City is so world class, it became part of our flagship tour. 🚲🦅 It's the #1 tour in OKC according to TripAdvisor. #OKHereWeGo #SeeOKC

On Polk Street in Houston, someone posted a fake speed limit sign that doubled the speed limit to 60mph. No one noticed. People didn’t actually drive 60mph. The sign was quickly replaced, but this shows a deeper truth: signs don’t change behavior. Design does.

If no buyer steps forward by March 14, 2025, we’ll begin closing the business and selling our bikes and equipment. This decision wasn’t easy, but I’m so proud of what we accomplished together.

But like all journeys, this one must come to an end. With 2 young kids and a focus on family, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to return to my career in architecture. Ride OKC is officially for sale, and I hope someone will take the reins and continue what we started.

Some of my favorite memories: introducing South Korean basketball fans to OKC, riding with Harley enthusiasts from Copenhagen, and leading a Holiday Lights Ride with my dad’s Christmas tree bike trailer blasting music. This city is full of stories, and we loved sharing them.

🧵After 7 incredible years of connecting people to Oklahoma City’s hidden gems on two wheels, it’s time to close this chapter. Ride OKC was inspired by a bike tour my wife, Ashley, & I took early in our relationship. We turned that spark into something bigger than we imagined.

A new 3.3-mile bike route is now open in NE OKC. The lane connects neighborhoods such as Capitol View, Springlake, and Culbertson to resources such as Metro Tech’s Springlake Campus, Homeland and the MAPS 3 Health & Wellness Center. https://t.co/KVPUq5olU0

Clearly our nerdery was out in full force while speaking about some of the striking architectural features because the next day a tour participant sent us this postcard dated August 27, 1912. See it on & more on our Art & Architecture Tour at https://t.co/j6WhgBe0WF

Last Fall we were invited to lead a history bike tour with @OKCArchitecture. One of our favorite notable stops, the Kee Residence, is a rare example of Dutch South African colonial architecture designed by G.W. Van Meter and built in 1907.

Some new protected bike infrastructure in @CityOfOKC! A pretty sweet half-mile you might say. More to come. Villa between NW 23rd and 30th, along with a neighborhood connector I've been waiting a decade for. Reader, I saw this and teared up with joy.
