#CLT must build more housing. Permits are down in 2024. Even luxury units coming online will help reduce prices for every type of housing. @CLTCityCouncil See slide deck: https://t.co/b1Tbq19r0F

What if our number one concern after a car crash wasn't getting traffic moving again, but making the road safer so no one else gets hurt? #WDoR2024 #TrafficViolenceIsPreventable

Only about ONE THIRD of roads are paid for by gas tax & tolls. Every taxpayer contributes to car infrastructure, regardless of their car usage. That includes indirect costs like "free" parking which aren't directly accounted for in gas taxes & tolls.
@Boenau Cars for pay for infrastructure through a fuel tax. bikes do not. Thees no arguement or rage. There's just a problem and one side paying for the solution.

Narrower vehicle lanes can result in slower driving speeds and reduced crossing distances for pedestrians. NACTO’s Urban Street Design Guide recommends that cities use 10-foot travel lanes to discourage speeding (or 11-foot lanes on designated truck and bus routes).

E-bike rebates might be the most wildly popular transportation policy in the country right now. I visited Denver – the first US city to offer them– to see if reality matches the hype. In @CityLab 🧵 https://t.co/ussJJsiqS2

Make 277 a river....
In the late 80s, San Francisco's Embarcadero Freeway carried 100,000 vehicles per day as a sort of traffic sewer, blocking the city from the expansive waterfront. But in 1989, the Loma Prieta earthquake rocked the freeway beyond repair, giving planners and engineers no choice
