States deserve to benefit from doing the heavy lifting to grow their own economy. Fixing the GST will ensure that WA is no longer punished for developing its resources which is good for every Australian. #auspol #wapol

A 1% GST share is what WA would receive in two years without the GST deal, according to the WA budget. It would be 15.8% this year. Instead we will receive 70% and every other state is still better off. Advocating to reverse this deal is indefensible.

This article contains many errors inc:.-70c floor = WA not contributing (we still lose the most).-WA is rolling in cash (we’re heavily in debt).-changes don’t reflect Productivity Commission review. The GST fix is in the national interest. Every state still wins from WA’s success.

GST relativities out @G_Parker . WA's share to fall from 51.9 c/d to 45 c/d. But cap means fed budget will have to cough up almost $2b to bring WA's share to the 70c floor.

Ben Wyatt has been an unstoppable force for good in WA. He brought the WA budget under control, ushered in the GST deal with Canberra and reduced payroll tax for small business owners. What’s more, he’s a great guy with a fierce intellect. An enormous loss for WA #wapol.
