It’s an absolutely gorgeous day to fund public transit

A $1 fare hike = $365 more a year for daily transit riders. That’s money that could be used for groceries, bills, & basic needs. I thought us PA legislators were against raising the cost of living? My bad...
We recognize the importance of public transportation, but we can’t ignore the needs of our rural communities, roads and bridges. Pennsylvania deserves a balanced, comprehensive plan that works for the entire Commonwealth.

Every $1 invested in public transit pumps out $5 in economic activity + $3 in business sales. Transit (quite literally) keeps PA’s economy moving. Senate Republicans—if you’re truly pro-economy, now’s the time to prove it. Get to Harrisburg and fund our public transit.

Grateful to @cityandstatepa for the chance to talk about the work I’m doing to expand housing access, uplift communities, and fight for a more equitable PA. https://t.co/akCmELISuB

Powell talked with City & State about several bills she has sponsored to increase access to housing and improve quality of life in Pennsylvania communities.

Try handing in a project 24 days late at your job. See how that goes. As of today, that's exactly how late Senate Republicans are with the state budget... no regard for the deadline yet still collecting a paycheck.

Stephen, I think you’re just an old man who hates fun :(
Folk, I need help with a ruling: Is this cringey because I'm an old man who kinda hates video or is it ~actually~ cringey? https://t.co/cWbhWIxugq

Senator McCormick just voted to take Medicaid and SNAP coverage away from tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians -- all while pocketing more of YOUR money to subsidize tax breaks for him and his rich friends. This budget is an utter sellout of Pennsylvania's working families.
I am proud to support this bill because it would deliver continued tax relief to millions of Pennsylvania families and prevent the largest tax increase in American history. This bill also delivers on many of the promises that both President Trump and I made – to secure our

60% of PA homes were built before 1970. Thousands of seniors, people with disabilities, & low-income families are living in unsafe homes. Our bill to fund critical repairs passed the House & heads to the Senate. Tell your senator: support the PA Home Preservation Program.

Had the joy of meeting Sam—a kind & hilarious kid whose family found support at the Children’s Home of Pittsburgh & Lemieux Family Center. From medical care to foster & adoption services, they’re a lifeline for families. I’ll keep fighting for the resources they deserve.

Yesterday, I had the honor of serving as Speaker pro tempore and presiding over the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Thank you to Speaker @RepMcClinton for the opportunity to hold the gavel and help guide the chamber through the day’s work.

Be on the lookout, neighbors! If you or someone you know receives a message from the self-described "Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Motor Vehicles (DMV)," do not respond! These messages are NOT real. You can report them as junk & delete them!

If UPMC can afford to pay their retired CEO $12 million a year, they can afford to adequately staff their hospitals to ensure women get the care they need. I stand with these nurses in their fight to unionize. They're not just standing up for themselves, but for their patients.
BREAKING: Nurses and Advanced Practitioners at Magee-Womens Hospital in Pittsburgh have united across their hospital and are calling for an election to certify their union. https://t.co/Tbv6VVAlzh

I stand in solidarity with workers at Allegheny Reproductive Health Center! When reproductive rights are under constant attack, the strongest way to protect this care is by standing up for the people who provide it.
