My last letter as a Member of Congress was sent to @POTUS tonight, urging him to award the Medal of Honor posthumously to Rhode Islander First Sergeant Peter Andrew McKenna. He is a true American hero who embodied the very best of our country and our shared American values.

One year ago, a gunman with an AR-15 style rifle shot and killed 19 fourth graders and two teachers, and wounded 17 others at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. It was the third-deadliest school shooting in modern American history.

Today, the EU took a key step in holding Meta accountable because no one is above the law. Failing to hold Meta accountable for their egregious behavior would undermine the GDPR & its effectiveness. Meta needs to reform their systems to ensure they can protect users’ privacy.
Meta has been hit with a record €1.2 billion fine for violating the EU’s privacy rulebook when it shuttled troves of personal data of European Facebook users to the US.

This #IDAHOBIT marks 4 years since the House first passed the #EqualityAct. Since then, anti-LGBTQI+ laws have been on the rise here at home and around the world. We must do more to ensure that LGBTQI+ people have the same protections and fundamental rights as everybody else.
