Governor Pritzker tried painting a rosy picture of Illinois’ fiscal condition, but the fact is, Illinois is in bad financial shape and still has the worst credit score in the country. While state revenue is declining, Pritzker’s spending is drastically increasing. #twill

The Governor’s budget proposal announced today does not include a plan to pay off Illinois’ $5.2 billion in unpaid bills. His plan counts on balancing the budget on the backs of businesses that are severely impacted by his forced closures.

The wheels of corruption continue to move closer to Madigan since four of his allies were indicted by the feds. It’s time for the Special Investigating Committee to convene a hearing and for Speaker Madigan to appear before the committee immediately.

Last week he placed more restrictions on our region and he announced further restrictions yesterday before walking them back. This Governor needs to work with the legislature and stop making decisions without legislative approval.

Governor Pritzker must stop punishing bars and restaurants in our region or else there won’t be any of these businesses left. There does not appear to be an accurate scientific method to his madness.

To top it off, Governor Pritzker needs to fix the mess at IDES and start paying the employment benefits to those who have yet to receive their unemployment check since March!

The Governor must stop making these decisions without legislative approval, he should call a special session to address the restrictions he continues to force on the residents and small business owners in Illinois.

Now that the Governor is further limiting capacity in bars and restaurants and requiring them to only be able to take reservations in order to serve customers. Pritzker should provide more grants to small businesses in the Metro East instead of prioritizing Chicago.

For example, the business interruption grants (BIG) announced last week, only 12 businesses in my district received a grant from the state compared to 101 businesses receiving a grant in a Chicago legislative district.
