I stand alongside our Navy in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Her monumental example of leadership and lifetime of service to the Commonwealth provides us all with the inspiration to answer the call of duty.

An honour to be in Geraldton today to unveil the headstone of Able Seaman Thomas Welsby Clark, who was formally identified in 2021 after 80 years. I pay tribute to AB Clark & all in HMAS Sydney II who fought and died in WWII in service of Australia. #TYFYS

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the loss of HMAS Perth. We remember the courage of more than 350 RAN and RAAF personnel killed in the Battle of Sunda Strait when HMAS Perth went down. We honour and remember their service and sacrifice. Lest we forget.
