Floods swept through North West Province, South Africa, in April this year, and over 500 families were left affected and in urgent need of support. The South African Red Cross Society, through the support of the @IFRC_DREF, provided life-saving assistance to affected communities.

We stand with you because mental health matters. On World Mental Health Day 2025, the South African Red Cross Society reaffirms that mental health is a right, that access to services must not be interrupted when disaster strikes, and that together, we can heal.

Caring for mental health can start with small but important actions. Reaching out to trusted friends or family members, staying active, practicing mindfulness, maintaining healthy daily routines, and seeking help or support groups are all meaningful steps toward resilience.
