The BRCS First Aid team was out in Palapye this past weekend for the BCM Inter-Mines First Aid Competitions, proudly serving as judges. Their role was key in ensuring fair assessments and promoting high standards of First Aid excellence across the mining sector.

He concluded by urging all partners to carry forward the spirit of collaboration, compassion, and accountability that defined the SLL project to build resilient, healthy communities across Botswana.

@kutlwanokoks emphasized that the project’s success was rooted in community-driven approaches, collaboration, and innovation. He called for continued investment in digital systems, inclusive engagement, and integration of COVID-19 vaccination into routine immunization.

As the lead partner for RCCE during the COVID-19 pandemic, BRCS reached thousands through door-to-door visits, group outreaches, and digital campaigns, building trust, tackling misinformation, and improving vaccine uptake nationwide.

At the SLL Project Closure Meeting, BRCS Secretary General and CEO, @kutlwanokoks reflected on the journey of strengthening community health systems through the Saving Lives and Livelihoods initiative.

The team also assessed sites for solar streetlight installation to enhance safety, especially for women and children. This mission reaffirmed the strong BRCS–UNICEF partnership in promoting child protection and resilient communities.

Children, teachers, and parents participated in interactive sessions on child rights, protection, and positive communication. BRCS led discussions on climate change, highlighting local issues like waste management and promoting simple resilience actions such as tree planting.

The Botswana Red Cross Society (BRCS), in collaboration with UNICEF, recently carried out a community engagement mission at Dukwi Refugee Camp focusing on child safeguarding, climate change awareness, and safety improvement.
