Year 6 are currently enjoying a money workshop from @RedSTARTeducate at @landg_group today. They are playing games to earn money, make investments and earn interest. Through this, they are learning all about borrowing as well as risk and reward.

This slide shows one of the questions we asked the children, and their answers: We were interested to see that: · When buying something for themselves, almost half (48%) of children in the study wouldn’t check if they had enough money.

More than 3,700 primary school children aged between 6 – 8 from 45 schools in underprivileged rural and urban areas across England and Scotland were surveyed on a range of age-appropriate money-related questions including money management, financial aspirations and goals.

We believe it is possible to improve the financial knowledge, and therefore prospects, of all 4.7 million primary school children across the UK, but especially those starting life in a position of socio-economic disadvantage.
