Absolutely appalled to find out that a referee was attacked by a player during a NCL game last night. What on earth goes through a player's mind to think that's acceptable?! More has to be done to protect referees from the verbal and physical abuse.

For years I've said league will never be able to catch union up due to the gap in resource, then despite the contradictory evidence union go and do this! Outstanding day for league. Here's the link to find your closest club, if there isn't one - start one!

Just got in from reffing Leeds v Halifax wheelchair in the SL semi final, what an absolute belting game of rugby that was! First time in a long time I've properly enjoyed myself on a game, credit to both clubs and the 100+ spectators who made a cracking atmosphere!

I reffed the equivalent of this final before the Super League was launched - held at a tiny community club with about 200 spectators. We've just held the women's final at Headingley, with over 4000 fans & live on sky sports. I bloody love where the women's game is going!
St Helens complete the treble with a 28-0 win over Leeds in the Women's Grand Final in front of a record 4,235 crowd. The Women's Super League is full of ability, great stories and inspiration for young girls, a major area for serious future growth for the sport

Saddened to hear the news of John Holdsworth's passing. It's difficult to put into words the impact he's had on so many. Not only a fantastic referee in his time, but a mentor and valued friend to so many new and developing referees since he retired and he will be missed greatly.

weekend, yet this year we've almost got a full list after less than 3 days of putting feelers out, including 10 girls - the most we've ever taken before is 2! Feeling very positive this year!

I don't do it because I want to ref at Wembley - I do it so kids can play on a Sunday morning and fall in love with the game I love.

Lost for words, absolutely thrilled for him. His main goal this year was to try break into NCL mid season. If you'd told us back in March that Aaryn would be NCL ref of the year this season we would've laughed you out of the room. Absolutely incredible in his first season in NCL!
