In health information, continued confusion is profitable. It's profit positive for insurers, PBMs, hospitals, dominant EHR vendors, conference organizers, and consultants. But the patients and physicians are losing out. The people mentioned above don't care. Better approach.

Not an isolated event in developing IT to support healthcare delivery. EXCEPT, employed doctors rarely have the option to decline to use the newest bright and shiny IT tool introduced by management. Time for a different, simpler approach.
