The dumbest USMNT fans on this platform insisted Pochettino was an idiot for playing Agyemang over Downs this summer. Agyemang has 5g3a for 12th place Derby in 1300 minutes, 15 starts. Downs has 0g1a for 11th place Southampton in 280 minutes, 1 start.
🚨👀 Damion #Downs wants to keep his World Cup chances alive, so a move in January is possible. Concrete enquiries have been made. Hamburger SV are interested, first reported by Kicker and confirmed. However, he is also on the radar of other Bundesliga clubs. #HSV The problem:

No team in America should sign up to play a Notre Dame team getting special treatment unless it explicitly benefits them. There's zero benefit to USC to play ND. And ND bailing on a Bowl Game shows they care not about "tradition" so spare me the sanctimony.
@georgewrighster Consider this scenario. 9-2 USC beats 10-1 Notre Dame in the last game of the 2026 season so both are 10-2. As a result, the committee ranks USC 11th and ND 12th due to head to head. Yet due to the MOU, ND jumps USC to get the playoff spot. So why would you play them?

What an absolutely shambolic academic institution. Every single alumnus of the University of Oklahoma should be outraged that their degrees have been devalued by this institution.

Tell your kids about the time a team that made the national championship game lost to a MAC team. It was so long ago they might not believe it.

3-0 in the 4th quarter by two mediocre teams that beat Notre Dame this year, and y'all had the audacity to criticize the inclusion of JMU and Tulane? Spoiler Alert: there's not 12 deserving teams of making the playoffs. Ever.

Shut. The. Fuck. Up. If Notre Dame wanted to qualify for the CFP, they could just join the "AAA league" that JMU or Tulane won. Notre Dame would prefer to be special. That's Notre Dame's fault. Not JMU or Tulane's.
Nick Saban to @PatMcAfeeShow: "Would we allow the winner of the AAA baseball league -- the International League, I don't even know the name of it -- would you let them in the World Series? That's the equivalent of what we do when JMU gets in the playoff and Notre Dame doesn't.

Able to clarify: this is the first time a D1 team has had two players record a triple double in the same game against a D1 team. History made.
I believe @tcuwbb just made history with two players recording triple doubles in the same game. Olivia Miles three straight triple doubles might be a record as well. Just a ridiculous performance tonight. #GoFrogs

Mark Sanchez was 4-2 in the playoffs, made 2 AFC Championship Games, and was 19-12 in his first two seasons with the Jets. Sanchez stunk. QB Wins is not a good stat.
Joe Burrow is 17-15 since losing to Mahomes in the AFC title game. He's missed the playoffs for 3 straight seasons. Tua is 23-18 in that same timeframe. Stop making excuses. Joe is not in the top tier of QBs

And by the same token, you only get better in a bigger pond if the people in that pond have an incentive to help you develop. If you aren't good enough for that level, and there isn't a support system to aid your development, you won't improve.

My argument against the "go to Europe immediately" crowd is that it assumes development stalls in a lower league by default, and accelerates in a better league. IMO it only stalls in a lower league once you've become one of the best players in that league.
Congratulations to Justin Che on listening to the "have to go to Europe" crowd and wasting 30 months of development on the bench or B teams, only to find himself right back where he started.

I'm told this deal is done, per sources. 💣🚨 Che now arrives in New York and will compete with Dylan Nealis for the starting right-back job under new head coach Michael Bradley in 2026. #RBNY

Everything wrong with European football mindset here: hire a manager with a very specific style of play, that does not match the players on the roster, and expect immediate results. It's non-sensical.

For clarity's sake, there are no $14 million QBs in CFB. However, four of the dozen coaches making more than $10 million won seven or fewer games. Two had losing seasons.
REPORTER: "What do you think about the NIL, the deals that are being made with players, and their hopping around schools?" @POTUS: "I think that it’s a disaster for college sports... Colleges cannot afford to play this game."
