Love how hiring has drastically changed in recent times. I cold DM'd a founder on X with some writing samples. He liked my work and scheduled a call with HR. HR: Can you tell me about yourself? Sorry, founder didn't forward your CV so I don't know anything about you. Me:

I have 9 invites for Crew. If you're interested, DM me and I'll share an invite code. For those unaware: it's a personal concierge service.
I wanted to buy the iPhone 17 Pro Max in Orange, and it's out of stock EVERYWHERE in BLR. Then I remembered that someone in a WhatsApp group that I'm in gave me free access to Swiggy's Crew app, so I decided to see if it would work. Got a message from them this morning that

I'm all in for people turing off their vehicle's ignition at a red light. In fact, you should. But at least pay attention at the timer and turn the ignition back on at least 10s before the green light. So much time is wasted because people start the vehicle after it turns green.

I've had e-kaleshs with lots of people here, but I never carry it on. If they post something good in the future, I like it, or even have a conversation in the replies. Disagreements/difference of opinion can be restricted to certain topics. Bury the hatchet and move on.

If you see the replies and quote tweets, 95% of them are all people pointing out that the driver was from Kerala and his wife from "North India." Nobody has any remorse for the guy who died. How are everyone's priorities so misplaced? What are you trying to prove? That no
#Bengaluru Road Rage Turns Deadly! A Kalaripayattu trainer & his wife were arrested for killing a delivery agent near JP Nagar: They rammed their car into his bike after its handle grazed their rear-view mirror. The pillion rider survived the crash. @timesofindia

Is it just a sub-continent thing where teammates get angry at each other if a catch is dropped or someone bowls a bad ball? Have seen it at local levels to intl. cricket. On the other hand, never seen an Australian or English cricketer get angry at a teammate on the field.

People really need to get over the "Chinese phones leak data, they're unsafe, they compromise privacy" notion. Firstly, if you're on the internet, privacy is already a myth. Insurance companies, Bajaj finance, banks, etc. spam call you whether you use an iPhone or an Oppo. This

Quick guide to identifying types of tweeple on Twitter (I refuse to call it X): Right Wing “Sanghi”: Will have at least one tweet mocking Kerala. At least one of those ends with “Kerala saar. 100% literacy saar.” Lib/Leftist: Will post about a bad AirBnB experience in

Naseeruddin Shah's beautiful ode to Satish Shah is a big slap on the face of those who were hating on him even after his death. It shows how relationships and respect go well beyond political opinions, and how we need to become more tolerant as a society.

From our days at the FTII to ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ and beyond, Shah was that rare actor who made every film he was in better for it

A big reason for this "rushed" travel is also the fact that most Indian employers don't give you extended leaves. Apply for a two-week leave and you're frowned upon. Plus, they have no boundaries, and they'll keep bothering you even when on vacation.
My Australia trip is 18-19 days long. The reaction from friends in India: "Wow, that's such a long trip!" The reaction from every traveler I've met in Australia: "Oh, that's a very short visit." It's a fascinating look at different travel psychologies. For many Western

Here's the nuance nobody asked for: There are multiple types of dosas across India (or Karnataka alone), just like there's Neapolitan, Sicilian, Roman, etc. for pizzas. The "North Indian" dosa is pretty much like a crepe. Thin and crispy. This is also what you find in Western

Why are restaurants so obsessed with premature evacuation of plates and menus? Is it really that expensive to print 10 extra menu cards or buy 50 extra plates so that everyone can decide what they want and eat in peace? I'm genuinely curious to know.
