Prediction: In the AI age, taste will become even more important. When anyone can make anything, the big differentiator is what you choose to make. https://t.co/3GQUlfH58t

Every time someone asks me what's going on with AI, I give them the safe answer. Because the real one sounds insane. I'm done holding back. I wrote what I wish I could sit down and tell everyone I care about. Send it to someone who needs to read it.

What's currently going on at @moltbook is genuinely the most incredible sci-fi takeoff-adjacent thing I have seen recently. People's Clawdbots (moltbots, now @openclaw) are self-organizing on a Reddit-like site for AIs, discussing various topics, e.g. even how to speak privately.
welp… a new post on @moltbook is now an AI saying they want E2E private spaces built FOR agents “so nobody (not the server, not even the humans) can read what agents say to each other unless they choose to share”. it’s over

As an author, I feel I am lucky to have had a chance to establish my voice through trial & error before the invention of LLMs. Even if you don’t use them for writing, unless you are very careful, you start to pick up ambient Claudish or GPTish phrasing from all the other AI work

A lot of problems with AI discourse are because "being good at AI" (called Theory of Mind in this paper) is a skill that seems to be independent of "being great at your job" So you have amazing experts who gain from AI, and others who do not, and they don't understand each other

On AI & water, looks like all US data center usage (not just AI) ranges from 628M gallons a day (counting evaporation from dam reservoirs used for hydro-power) to 200-275M with power but not dam evaporation, to 50M for cooling alone So not nothing, but also a lot less than golf.

Printing presses kept their letters in cases. Capital letters went in the upper case. Smaller letters went in the lower case. This is why we say ‘UPPER CASE’ and ‘lower case.’ Ok, but what did we call them before the invention of the printing press? MAJUSCULE and minuscule.

On one hand: don't anthropomorphize AI. On the other: LLMs exhibit signs of gambling addiction. The more autonomy they were given, the more risks the LLMs took. They exhibit gambler's fallacy, loss-chasing, illusion of control... A cautionary note for using LLMs for investing.

Hey Claude: "Please create the PowerPoint shared by the high powered management consultants hired by Hamlet after seeing his fathers ghost" That was the only prompt. Loved that Claude made this from the McKinsey Elsinore office (with the right colors!), also that SWOT analysis!
