Our prison reentry program costs us about $800-$1500/person depending on their support system. Help us provide basic necessities, like clothing, coats, shoes, hygiene items, transitional housing, and transportation to people returning their communities @

DOJ just released the report from its two-year investigation of the Minneapolis police department. Here's a thread of notable excerpts. This first one happened *while a DOJ investigator was on a ride-along.*

Just got this message from Michael Richie, a friend of Radical Hope Project who was released from prison last year. So happy he is back on his feet and doing so well! #reentry #prison #incarcerated

What happened to Jordan Neely was murder. It is a continuation of the history of lynchings perpetrated by hyper aggressive white males. No one suffering mental anguish should have to fear that they’ll be murdered as well. RHP stands FOR Jordan Neely because he was murdered.

A police officer in Fairfax County, Virginia murdered an unarmed Black man over a mere allegation of stealing a pair of sunglasses. The grand jury, in which only police investigators were allowed to present evidence, just decided to not indict. The system is working as planned.

Whenever I post something, I am checking the pulse of those who are friends or followers. I like to create podcast episodes that are based on what's trending. In order to be relevant you have to speak to the issues that people care about.

This #TransDayOfVisibility, I'm asking everyone to lift up my beautiful baby sister Layleen Polanco, who died of a seizure in solitary confinement at Rikers. We cannot allow @GovKathyHochul to gut the bail laws so more families suffer like mine has. My statement.

We’re going to call tomorrow when they open and ask questions, but any insight into federal MD prisons is appreciated.

A client of ours in MD has been put somewhere he can only make calls “once very 30 days”. I’m assuming he’s in solitary, but they won’t tell his wife if he is okay. Does anyone have any insight on what they’re supposed to tell family when someone is unable to reach them?

A 71 year old deaf woman was taken to jail on suspicion of trespassing. Upon intake, they ripped her clothes off, took her wedding ring, and broke her arm. Think about the culture that would foster cruelty this detached from a person’s basic humanity.

This whole thread is horrifying and a massive threat to the 1st amendment.

next person, who is the sole caretaker of her aging uncle with dementia, is also denied bond. reason given is that this person is from New York, and is therefore a flight risk and a risk to the community.
