Unironically these would be incredibly helpful for newer/occasional fans who arenāt super informed on which specific cars drivers are in, particularly at short tracks. The scoring pylon / jumbotron is almost useless at some tracks

That underground tunnel produced some fast cars
Defense called their first witness, NASCAR Chief Racing Dev Officer John Probst. Talked about his time working at Ford, Red Bull, Ganassi (mentioned Ganassi's secret testing tunnel under a mountain) A lot of questions are about team spending. Probst compared it to

Itās been fun. But I feel like after Friday I think we, and the jury probably, have heard enough to come to a conclusion on this whole case. I think the rest of this case will just be determining the damages amount
Join me in thanking ā¦@jeff_gluckā© and ā¦@Jordan_Bianchiā© for their thorough, exhausting and award-worthy work of keeping us informed (in vivid detail) of the 23XI/FRM vs NASCAR trial. The Teardown is a treasure. Thank you, fellas. šš¼

Iām on the jury, can confirm this was said
Before he let the jury out for the weekend, judge Kenneth Bell reminded the jurors that they are forbidden from doing independent research on the case (such as seeking out media coverage), and warned them that if they failed to follow the instructions, it could cause a mis-trial.

You can have all the evidence in the world & people will still argue with you about reality.
@RacingRT1 Stop trying to win this argument because you canāt. The XFL was not a competitor That was obvious at the time

Any chance we get @TonyStewart or @RayEvernham deposed to hear what actually went on?

Pride comes before the fall
The genesis of @NASCAR's Larry Buterman asking Michael Jordan if he knew the Frances built Talladega is that Jordan testified that he went to 'Dega as a fan when he was a kid. ā”ļø Buterman's point was whether 23XI is giving proper credit to what the Frances have done for NASCAR.

My biggest question is If NASCARs fighting so hard because itās all about the France family & their creation, then why dont they do whatever they can to create a viable business model? It feels like they want their cake & eat it too. Give teams nothing & No competing Seriesā

I had something like this happen to me at Daytona once. They usually have a pretty cool pre race with the National Anthem & USAF Thunderbirds. I missed most of it & asked a few ppl around me if theyād text or airdrop me their video. They all said no. Strange society we live in

These ācontingenciesā make you wonder why would NASCAR spend years & potentially hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees to defend it could survive if their legacy teams decided to just race somewhere else.
Tried to go back in my files to see some of exhibits shown today. Among them was this NASCAR working document in April 2022 on the charter negotiations:

My prediction: Teams are franchised into NASCAR, equal split of national revenue to each team based on # of cars, team costs covered (no more paying for WiFi/credentials, etc) Divest from some tracks & IP Collective bargaining model similar to NFL or MLB
I think itās important to know the risk potential if you are rooting for 23XI and FRM to win and not settle. As @Kenny_Wallace emphasized, are you comfortable tearing the sport down? As a NASCAR fan of 27 years, I donāt know if I want to see significant change to its core.

Was listening to the Teardown preview of the NASCAR/23XI lawsuit & the talk about proving antitrust & particularly how NASCAR felt threatened by SRX⦠I was reminded of how Justin Marks tweeted a proposal for a āClassicā series & NASCAR trademarked everything to prevent it

How NASCAR presents to its fans today
This isnāt a criticism, but there is a stark difference between how NASCAR was presented 20 years ago vs. now. I think we donāt talk to our fans like weāre intelligent anymore and we also donāt dive into the ālittle thingsā like this anymore.

While NASCAR Twitter is up in arms over the NASCAR/23XI lawsuit, texts messages, etc. I went on Google to see what the outside world thinks of it Almost no mention of this from any mainstream, non-industry outlets besides a Yahoo & NYT. This is how irrelevant NASCAR is
