Thanks to @WBUR for letting me share what we know about the harms the Republicans' tax-cutting and deficit-busting bill will create for the U.S. power grid—less solar, wind and batteries, higher energy prices, and destruction of jobs and economic growth:

The new budget bill will end many incentives for clean energy, which will likely have major implications for Americans' energy costs.

A top deputy to Energy Secretary Chris Wright is also a board member at his fracking company. She has no experience in clean energy, and will lead DOE's renewable energy division. They both still hold millions of dollars in stock in Wright's company.

Cleantech companies have announced $129B worth of clean energy factory plans since August 2022. More than 80% of that money would go to Republican congressional districts. Constituents could lose big if Trump derails the clean energy manufacturing boom:

Well, this is the opposite of an I’m-leaving-twitter post. I am newly committed to shouting into the wind of misinformation here, hopelessly fighting the algorithm with my boring facts and nuance. It won’t work. But if you want in-depth coverage of climate issues, I’m here.

It's amazing how the Financial Times is now significantly to the left of The New York Times and The New Yorker. The latter continue to beat the drum about how the stupidity and racism of the poors is the problem, while the FT keeps saying...it's the political economy, stupid!
