Lastly but possibly most importantly, every day I am lucky enough to work with the most incredible people, both patients and colleagues. And for the first time in my life I feel as though I genuinely fit in in a team.

I have started my journey as a supervisor and had my first day supervising a student today.

This week, I realised it was actually quite easy to overcome my fear of presenting by simply speaking on a topic I am super passionate about when stepping into my role as vulnerabilities champion and presenting about the role of SLT with patients with LD and ASD.

I have found an area I am so very passionate about and am fortunate to be starting my B6 role specialising in healthcare for older people, whilst maintaining a rotational aspect to my role.

I have gained experience working with patients in a variety of different specialisms including head and neck cancer, oncology and haematology, general medicine, healthcare for older people and voice, completing my dysphagia, voice and NQP competencies.
