*NEW* Today, we released our “Child Care Assistance Landscape: Inequities in Federal and State Eligibility and Access” report - and the data is clear. Far too many children who are potentially eligible to receive access to CCDF-funded #childcare do not.

Recently had the pleasure of speaking with @aliaemily on #childcare workforce initiatives and discussing the importance of understanding historic inequities in the #CCEE field.
“Historic underinvestment in the child care system that has been ever-present intersects with long-standing gender and racial inequities,” says @RWilensky of @CLASPChildCare, “Understanding & grappling with that history is [an] important place to start."

New project out that I worked on with @CLASP colleagues @alyssadfortner and @CLASPShira highlights the positive impact of pandemic #childcare relief and what’s at stake (spoiler: almost everything) as the funding starts to expire next month, take a look!
#ChildCare relief funds made a difference in shaping the child care system and the lives of families and child care providers. All this progress is at stake without a significant, permanent increase in federal funding.

All throughout history, women of color — particularly Black women — have been exploited to care for our country’s kids. This #WomensHistoryMonth, let’s commit to centering them and paying them as we rebuild a #childcare system that works for all of us. #ChildCareIsGenderJustice

The @POTUS proposed #budget: ➡️Invests $600 billion over 10 years in early education & #childcare ➡️Expands access to #childcare for 16 million more children–more than 8x the number of children who currently receive assistance ➡️Increases Pre-K access to 4 million 4 year olds

A must read from my @CLASP_DC colleagues @TJFerrette, @ahardyMPA17 & @alyssadfortner on in improving problematic disciplinary policies and practices in #childcare and #earlyed!
1/5 #BlackHistoryMonth celebrates the countless ways Black communities have made our nation stronger while also being a time to reflect on ways anti-Black racism & bias cause harm. One way that Black children endure harm is through disproportionate rates of harsh discipline.

One in four parents reported being forced to leave their job because they couldn't get the child care they need. Our nation's child care crisis is holding our economy back, and we've got to fix it. #SOTU

Child care is the work that makes all other work happen. Creating a #ChildCare system that actually works for families, providers, kids, and our communities is key to achieving racial and gender justice. Hoping to hear @POTUS address the #StateofChildCare in the #SOTU.
