Thanks for sharing, what a fabulous photo!.
A key target of my trip to East Anglia on the weekend was the rare and absolutely massive Fen Raft Spider. After only seeing tiddlers at Redgrave Fen it was great to see this huge female with egg sack at @RSPB_Strumpshaw.

Not so lucky with the weather today, the sun shone briefly at lunchtime and two swallowtails were spotted on the Flag Iris in front of the hide. Come on sun. show yourself again tomorrow!.

A glorious day on the reserve yesterday, what will today have to add? Bring it on!.
Inspiring day of volunteering / patching at Strumpshaw Fen / dragonfly city yesterday with Scarce Chaser everywhere and the site's first Norfolk Hawker of the year. Finding a Turtle Dove and a Honey Buzzard was amazing bonus too (the former is a real rarity at there these days)!

We've had a pair displaying in front of our reception hide all day today! It's been heartwarming to see. π.
This March keep an eye out for Great Crested Grebes throwing some shapes on the water!. Their elaborate courtship dance includes weed waggling, rising out of the water, and nodding their heads in unison. We're big fans π

The first boom of the season!.
Moon rises on a chilled weekend of patch birding @RSPB_Strumpshaw area. A Ruddy Shelduck (glowing like the moon!), the first booming Bittern of the year and fantastic views of a hunting Weasel were the standouts.
