World Peace Service (WFD) project is supporting a community dialogue session in Loruko. The activity has brought together over sixty participants to discuss possible solutions/ strategies to develop Loruko & its neighboring communities.

The engagement led to the establishment of a structured framework for students, University staff, community members and security forces to work together proactively for campus and community safety.

Garissa County Acting Commissioner Sabastian Okiring, noted the significant improvement in community-security trust from 30% to 72%, a testament to ongoing collaborative efforts.

The day was marked by insightful speeches from distinguished guests; Dialogue on security issues; interactive sporting activities aimed at breaking down barriers and trust-building; and the Official launch of the Garissa University Community Policing Initiative.

This initiative is deeply rooted in the institution's painful history. The memory of the 2015 terror attack, where 148 lives were tragically cut short, serves as the solemn catalyst for this vital work.

Through the "Usalama ni Uaminifu" program, supported by @theGCERF , RPPL in collaboration with @ACDOkenya , and @GarissaUni, launched the Garissa University Community Policing Initiative.

The ACC Isiolo Central decried the fights that have affected every sector of development & aid projects. He urged communities to embrace peace to allow this region to grow in development so that the resources that are spent on organising peace progs be spent on dev’t projects

The marathon provided a platform for mentorship opportunities for young morans in celebration of cultural diversity through indigenous music and dance. It incorporated community dialogue sessions & tree planting to enhance conservation efforts while strengthening social cohesion
