Prepping for @FreeLeaguePub Blade Runner and the @aintslayed Electric Dreams is wonderful. If a blend of AP and audio drama is your thing, I would highly recommend. But not to my players because spoilers, obvs. #bladerunner #ttrpg

This is exactly right. If I found out my DM fudged a roll to keep me alive, I'd bow out of the campaign. Risk is an important part of the game and failing to enforce the consequences of the risks taken by players is patronizing.
I had a thought about the fudging thing. You know when you’re new and an experienced person feels bad for you in a competitive activity, so they pull back and let you win? It’s not the same entirely, but it gives the same feeling. For someone like me, it feels patronizing.
