Art can be incredibly beneficial for health, which patients at the ROH are finding out during our Art for Health workshops. These workshops are funded by @FundRoh and provide patients with chronic pain the chance to engage in art therapy to help distract them from their pain.

If you’re due a hip or knee joint replacement at the ROH, you’ll get a phone call 72 hours before your surgery date. On this call, you will be told about Day Case surgery – the way we’re doing things at the ROH now.

Day Case/ 23h joint replacements are quickly becoming standard in orthopaedic units across the NHS. The ROH isn’t different! We already offer Day Case surgeries, but from next week, we’re opening a dedicated ward just for patients who are having primary hip and knee surgeries.

Hip or knee replacement due at the ROH?. From August you might not have an overnight stay – and be back in your own bed by the end of the day!. Studies show this helps you to recover quicker, as well as making you more comfortable for your recovery.
