A nurse academic is embarking on a campaign to improve funding for trainee nursing associates studying full-time at university. While student nurses can access a £5,000 annual support grant, their nursing associate counterparts cannot. Read more here:

Stating that "Nursing Associates were being used to replace registered nurses" is dangerous. Hold employers accountable, but don't paint a poor picture of NAs, who struggle with this misinformation in practice. @NHSuk should provide more respect & support for NA role development.
@NurseStandard It's time that balance is given to these reports and considerations given to the fact that Nursing Associates are trained, NMC registered, professionals. The issue here doesn't lie with NAs. It lies with employers who don't understand or respect their contribution.
