A FANTASTIC find - a BBC Schools programme about 1066! It would have been advisable for the writers/makers/cast of 'King and Conqueror' to listen to this - and discover that the f-word wasn't first used until over 300 years after the time their series is set in!

The talent shown by the National Youth Orchestra at the #BBCProms makes me feel very inadequate indeed. Not only do they play the music wonderfully, they also look delighted to be there. Marvellous!

Decide to return home a different way - and pass this (see photo), which has looked the same unsightly mess ever since I moved here. The only saving grace is that I rent - so once I find work elsewhere, I'm gone. My birthtown is Great Yarmouth - vibrant, energised - BETTER.

Welcome to Lowestoft - a challenge to anyone's optimism. Spoke to a woman with her dog on the beach (they're banned for over a month yet). 'She's not doing any harm'. Trudged into town. The library is closed 2 hours early because of anticipated anti-social behaviour. (1/2)

Bought 100 reels from a chap earlier this year. Came across a family tape which contains recordings of the chap from the late 1960s on his 1st birthday. I'm about to call him to confirm its existence. Love things like that!

Totally agree. He was equally suave and wonderful in real-life when I met him. His radio shows felt effortless - the mark of a genuinely great broadcaster. I'm very sad that he has left us.

OK so the ITMA was erased, but it was recorded in December 1955! It gives me real hope that the missing "Hancock's Half Hour" episodes are out there when I come across something like this...but hopefully not recorded over like the ITMA on this reel to reel tape!

If you're at #Glastonbury2025 today, you can witness history at 8:00 in the Acoustic Tent. The Searchers - a legendary 1960s band - play their final show after well over 60 years of touring. Would love the BBC to film it for posterity! I shall be there...but sadly only in spirit.

This Charles Parker production about Narrow Boats (last heard in 1962!) was lost for many years. It's now "known", but this is another copy. Once again I feel thankful for these brilliant, BRILLIANT people who recorded things off radio years ago! #RadioBallad #lostradio
