This morning's @RECPress #JobsOutlook is another indicator of a marginally sunnier outlook amongst businesses. This is our survey of businesses - @RECmembers clients - and it shows an improving picture, with businesses now getting more confident about their prospects. (1/).

This flies with our anecdote and data. @RECmembers report more client positivity but it isn't pulling into billings yet. Watching Sept closely for this.
Now this *is* a boost for Rachel Reeves. 😉. The flash S&P Global PMI suggests that private sector business activity picked up sharply in August, led by services, with expectations for the next 12m improving too. Employment was still weak, but perhaps a lagging indicator? 🤞
