Very detailed and rigorous response - definitely worth reading the very comprehensive response the authors wrote. But more so: read the original article! It has an novel theory, new data and extensive quant AND qual evidence and really pushes forward our knowledge on the topic.

In all the post election reflections this is worth keeping in mind with re to distribution of party support in the electorate 👇👇.
I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote. Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else. Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.

As the dust has settled, happy to share I’ve now started a job with the 🇨🇦 federal government as a sr economist. A bit of a change as I joined ISED and will be working on industrial policy, but looking forward to learning about this new area.
