A budget surplus is an insult to people in poverty. The prime minister has been gloating about a $9.6 billion surplus, with empty words about “tough choices”. It means nothing to those of us whose tough choices mean choosing between eating, rent and other essentials. #Budget2024

Sophia won a tenancy transfer that was being refused on unfair grounds and a $420 transfer fee reduced down to $100. Our renters rights support team volunteer their time to help our members through some of the most stressful times in their lives. 2/4

Every day the members of the Renters and Housing Union help members just like Sophia, fighting unfair and often invalid rent increases, harassment from agents, notices to vacate, and much more. 1/4
