We're merging with
@solid_js

Yep, that's the sound your chair makes when you lean back and let the framework does all the work for ya... 😉
QwikReact ⚛️ is coming soon! allowing to use React components in existing Qwik apps. Just like
@astrodotbuild
, allowing to partially hydrate islands of React code, but it comes with advantages!
Opening 🧵…

The project waterfall starts at 88% JS 👀
Thank you very much our friend
@RyanCarniato
for the help along the way! 🙏
Your work on
@solid_js
has been an inspiration to us all and without Signals, the web wouldn't be the same ♥️

Hey,
@QwikDev
I wanted to congratulate you on reaching the milestone of 20k Stars on Github!
Resumability is now a word in the web dev vernacular and people are excited about what it means for the future of frameworks (see Angular + Wiz).
Thank you for pushing the web forward.
A website full of animations & javascript handlers with a perfect Lighthouse score? Whenever I make a Lighthouse test in , I feel refreshed 🥰
Should I share the tips?
Qwik Devs Assemble! 📢🦸♀️🦸♂️⚡
The
#StateOfJS
survey time is almost over and it's time to vote...
Don't forget to also share some ♥ to all the other great frameworks who've innovated a lot in 2023
Happy voting! 😊
I'm happy to announce that the first version of
@angular
integration for
@QwikDev
is published on npm! 🔥🎉🔥
Try it out in the Qwik app by running "npx add-angular-to-qwik
@latest
". 🚀
My wife just told me that a website to buy tickets doesn't work. Turns out she was just clicking the button before JS has finished hydrating so it did nothing 🙈. Thanks, SSR...
Qwik version 0.16.0 is out! 🎉
The biggest change is a simplification to the component lifecycle hooks
4 previous hooks became 1 -> `useTask$`
A task runs on first render, and can also be reactive and re-run on dependent changes

Wow
@manucorporat
and
@adamdbradley
are moving fast! A week after v1.0 and v1.1 is here with an amazing set of new features and improvements.
My favorite is reusing the text in DOM when deserializing app state so that same string does not appear twice!
Exciting news!
@QwikDev
has released a new CLI, perfect for starting your next project 🔥
Shoutout to
@n_moore
for creating and sharing
#clack
with the community!
Funny story:
💂
@adamdbradley
, longing to appear cultured and sophisticated, named QwikCity's deployment integrations as "adaptors" 🇬🇧
However, 91 file changes later we now have "adapters" 🇺🇸 for API consistencies.
👑
Phase 1 of
@QwikDev
for React. MERGED!
- Qwik optimizer can now deal with React code
- Runtime includes the necessary machinery to partial hydrate other frameworks, and CSS frameworks such as
@emotioncss
- Content visibility built-in
Qwik⚡️ + React⚛️ is going to be a game changer!
- 🔌 Dynamic data binding between React and Qwik
- ⚙️ Custom partial hydration strategies
- 🌐 Full React ecosystem in
@QwikDev
- 📥 Nested content projection
- 🫧 Interactivity without Hydration
I’ve been rewriting an
@angular
SSR app to
@QwikDev
.
My thoughts so far
- Qwik is exciting and refreshing to use
- Using
@tailwindcss
to build my components in Angular means converting them to Qwik Component$ is a breeze
- Qwik is very logically designed
Today marks one year since
@shai_reznik
told me this crazy idea of an automatically optimized, server-first ui library.
One year later, excited to announce that I'm working full-time with Qwik on some fintech projects! (w/ Kunai) + the sustainability of Qwik UI Headless ⚡️
⚡️ vite
@4
.0.0-beta.4 is out!
If no regressions are reported, we plan to release Vite 4 (with
@RollupJS
3 support!) this Friday. Please help us test it and report back any issues!
> pnpm create vite
@beta
Thanks,
@IanVanSchooten
for the push to release create-vite
@beta
!
This morning I start playing with a new benchmark created why
@youyuxi
, showing that
@QwikDev
had a considerable cost when resuming 😬
A couple of hours later, got a fix making it 14x times faster!
Spoiler: it will get even better. should get to 5ms with upcoming refactor
Only the code for the components which are re-rendered on the client will be downloaded.
The application download is proportional to # of interactions, not downloaded all upfront.
We're trying something new... 👀
Qwik office hours will happen on spaces!

"Speeding Up Your React App With Less JavaScript" at
#reactsummit
- Misko demoed the qwikify$ function from qwik that can load any react component into a qwik application! This brings all the benefits of qwik to existing react components.
Last weekend I did a big breakthrough in
@QwikDev
!
New version will drastically remove the amount of components being downloaded/executed. With no changes, existing apps will execute WAY less JS.
