Another clear and unnecessary waste of the city's resources. Wonder if it'll get the same "windswept afterthought" design the Beachcomber lot got.
Acapulcos Mexican Restaurant & Cantina announced it's closing at the end of December. The city plans to take the property and build a small park.

@QuincyTweets @mayortomkoch So many local politicians around the country treat government as their own private fiefdom and think of themselves as feudal lords, the local police their kingsguard. They rely on little media coverage and citizen indifference and it mostly works!

That this is being done under eminent domain is a misuse of it's intent. Plenty of other sites in the area that aren't home to businesses that positively impact the city, e.g. that seedy Freedom Park across the tracks, or the rotting behemoth above the T station, or

Surely it's just a funny coincidence that a bulk of the city's "improvements" are all within the same corridor between the mayor's residence and City Hall
Quincy could take three downtown properties by eminent domain taking to further two projects honoring the past and fostering civic engagement.
