Waaay back at the beginning of this, let’s say April 2020, I was hearing a lot about the “Spanish” flu pandemic, particularly that more people died in the second wave than the first. (1/7)

It has been 35 years since the Montreal Massacre at École Polytechnique. On December 6,1989, 14 young women were murdered and 14 other people were injured in a deadly mass shooting attack, motivated by misogyny. 🧵#rememberthe14

Autism was discovered in 1911 and the modern definition of autism came in 1943. Tylenol wasn’t widely used until the 1950s. Just getting everyone ready for the clown show tomorrow.

📣 School is for kids. Schools are often the heartbeat of a community, but at their core, they exist for one purpose: to serve students. The hardest part of education isn’t the kids—it’s remembering that every decision should come back to them. Every kid. 🔹 Schools are for

Predictably, it wasn’t answered after 5 minutes. Or half an hour. Or an hour. I was on hold for 1h45m before my call was answered. The very helpful agent was able to handle my query within 6 minutes. (4/?)

🙄 I went to YVR to avoid making a phone call. “Don’t worry,” I was told, “this is a special number and they’ll definitely answer within 5 minutes.” Riiiiight… (3/?)

Was told to go to the check-in desks for help. Only two agents working. After waiting ~20 minutes, I was informed they couldn’t (wouldn’t?) help, and I needed to find a certain sign with a certain QR code, to get a phone number to call. (2/?)

Did you know that @AirCanada doesn’t have a customer service desk at @yvrairport ? I didn’t. I went to the airport to try to talk to customer service in person regarding my minor child being stranded due to the likely AC shutdown. (1/?)

Guy who is constantly sharing CBC stories warns Canadians not to believe CBC.
So, barely 60 days before an election, Liberals promise another billion dollars of your money to CBC to give the corporation extra incentive to campaign day and night to re-elect the Liberal government to a fourth term. A reminder to believe nothing you see or hear on CBC.

I drew this last November 26th knowing full well no self-respecting family newspaper in the country would be likely to print it. I was right. But given the events of this weekend, I’m gonna to let ‘er rip anyway. #USA #Canada #tariffs @realDonaldTrump

Found an email in my inbox this morning, informing us that new GP is moving her practice to a suburb. I need to find a new GP, AGAIN. Feeling panicky, frustrated, overwhelmed, and even a little angry at falling through the cracks again. #bcpoli

Hey, @adriandix and @Dave_Eby: Two years ago, we found out - more or less accidentally - that our GP was retiring. It took months to find a new GP for me, my husband, our kids, and my parents.

I sure wish I’d checked the weather forecast for election day before deciding to not vote at an advance poll, but neither this #BCStorm, nor the arm aching from yesterday’s Covid booster, will stop me from voting in the #BCelection2024.
