Want small businesses & workers to thrive? . Make it easier to build homes. Make it legal for people to do things with their property. Cheaper rent makes it easier for workers, and businesses!.
If Rhode Islanders on average are making between $15-$20 an hour, that’s $150 a day * 5 days comes out to almost $770 a week times 4= $3,000 a month in salary. How are our people supposed to afford to pay a $2000-$2500 housing unit? On top of other expenses.

I visited Block Island this summer and saw the wind farm from afar. It was not intrusive. Funny, though, that the same actors who suddenly “care” about the environment & oppose wind are nowhere to be found on other environmental causes.
whatever your broader take on offshore wind, the suspension of the Revolution Wind project is a vindictive and erratic move.

People forget that building housing isn’t just about giving people homes (very important!), but also about keeping the economy going. As someone in the construction space, my income depends on new housing going up!.

I knew a few car-less coworkers at @GDElectricBoat who took the Quonset Express to work. Or van pooled. Without those options, they couldn’t get to work. Does @GovDanMcKee want a “blue economy” or no?.
RIGOP: Infrastructure is an economic investment and key to staying competitive. Don’t let McKee’s underfunding hurt us. In a $14B budget, priorities are wrong—support public transit that supports small business. You may wish it were better, but you can’t destroy it to improve it.

When I started my current job, I was without my car for a day during my first week, so I needed @RIPTA_RI to get me to work at 7AM. And it did. Bus arrived on time. Ride was smooth. Ride back home was timely. It was easy. @PVDStreets & @TransitRi are working to keep this going

Low bus ridership in the 2nd densest state in the country isn’t because RIPTA has too much money or b/c it functions too well. It’s because of unreliability, and a lack of vision, caused my a state that refuses to properly fund & expand its public services.
@DavidMoralesRI So many RIPTA buses ride empty or with one or two people on it. They are cutting the ones no one uses. Empty buses just employ union workers. Our public money isn't a jobs program for useless union service jobs.
