I am deeply saddened by the shooting of National Guard members in Washington DC yesterday, and am praying for their recovery. They were attacked while serving their country.

In a world where it can often be difficult to find reasons for hope and optimism, Senator Winter was always there to challenge us to do unimaginable things in the service of the people who need the most help. We'll miss her deeply. Hug your loved ones a little tighter.

Millions of Americans are about to see their health insurance costs increase by thousands a year, and many will lose coverage altogether because Republicans in Congress refused to fully fund the ACA.   RIers are already seeing the impact. Here are some of their stories:

About 7,000 RI small business enrollees get health care through our Affordable Care Act marketplace, HealthSourceRI. But Trump & Republicans’ health care crisis is jacking up their costs. We must stop the cuts, lower costs & save health care for small biz & everyone else.
