Weβre almost at 2 weeks of US government shutdown. Thatβs 3.84% of the year. Iβll just reduce my tax bill by that same amount then, since clearly we donβt need it. That makes sense, right?

When I was in high school, my mom convinced the principal that I should be allowed to take 3 weeks off to accompany her on a business trip to Asia. Changed my life. As a direct result of those 3 weeks Iβve now spent a third of my life living in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Itβs 2025 and I actually have parents trying to defend pulling their child out of school for a vacation. I get a death. I get granny is turning 100 and lives out of state. But to get a cheaper vacation- nope. Canβt ever support that.
