…the risk of expectations being raised too high can backfire easily on AI’s hype men if investors decide the bubble is overinflated. “They just all run for the exits as fast as they can, and so things can collapse really, really, really fast.”

#Uber is now often more expensive than taxis! Checked prices from airport to resort: cheapest Uber €100+ (some well over €200). Jumped in an airport taxi instead, bigger car, metered fare €62! Once disruption is done, platforms milk their market dominance for higher prices.

Uber’s dynamic pricing isn’t a game, it’s a battle that consumers are destined to lose. If world Go champions can’t beat AlphaGo, how could we outsmart algorithms by the likes of #Uber? Checked normal price, hesitated, it surged 50%. Called local taxi, rechecked, back to normal!.

I asked ChatGPT: 4.5GW = 3 nuclear stations, or 1,800 wind turbines, or enough to power 3M UK homes. Elon’s 50M H100s would need ~35GW. So… just the energy output of a small country ….

People often forget that government borrowing is essentially deferred taxation, as money raised today through debt will need to be repaid in the future, typically through higher taxes, reduced spending, or inflation. There is no free lunch.
